With sweeping views over the surrounding landscape, the newly designed rooftop terrace of this family-run hotel invites guests to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy a refreshing dip. At its heart: a compact sky pool, shimmering mysteriously through glass panels – a true eye-catcher, especially when illuminated at night. What was once an unused rooftop has been transformed by LAINS Architects into an exclusive retreat. The owner's vision: a place that opens up new perspectives while elevating the hotel as a whole – complete with a lounge-like atmosphere, refined drinks, and occasional events like wine tastings.
Technically, the project was highly demanding. The pool’s size and placement had to be precisely aligned with the existing load-bearing structure, utilities, and numerous ventilation shafts. It now sits slightly elevated on the western end of the terrace – about 1.5 meters above the surrounding sundeck. A place to dive in, drift away – and maybe show off a little. But always with style.
